Hak Boerenkool and Spinazie Recalled in Nova Scotia and Ontario Due to Rubber Contamination

Hak brand Boerenkool and Spinazie products were recalled in Nova Scotia and Ontario due to possible contamination with pieces of rubber, according to a notification from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) published on May 13, 2025.

The CFIA advised that the affected products should not be used, sold, served, or distributed. The recall applies to Hak brand Boerenkool in 340 g (UPC 8720600608605) and 680 g (UPC 8720600609824) packages, as well as Hak brand Spinazie in 330 g (UPC 8720600608940) and 630 g (UPC 8720600609817) sizes. These products are identified by codes LG262 up to and including LG292.

According to the CFIA notification, Custan Foods Ltd. is the recalling firm. The recall is classified as Class 3 and listed under the identification number RA-77450.

No reports of injuries or incidents connected to this recall were included in the CFIA announcement.
