Hampton United Church’s 150th anniversary set for Sept. 28; service moved to 1 p.m.
Hampton United Church will mark its 150th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, from noon to 5 p.m. at 5454 Old Scugog Road in Hampton, according to the Municipality of Clarington events calendar. The weekly 9:15 a.m. service is rescheduled to 1 p.m. for the occasion.
The event is open to former and current residents, past members, visitors, and anyone interested in the church’s history. Attendees may drop in for part or all of the afternoon.
An open house runs from noon to 1 p.m. with light refreshments.
A special service at 1 p.m. will be led by Rev. Doug Ferris. Former ministers Rev. Richard Parker and Rev. Ned Wells are expected to join as special guests.
A reflection bench dedication is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
Short walking tours of the village are planned between 3 and 5 p.m.
The celebration theme is “Celebrating the Past, Present and Future in Faith.”
