Health Canada recalls CCM Hybrid Visor and replacement accessory over cracking risk

Health Canada has issued a consumer product recall for the CCM Hybrid Visor (Style FMVHR) and the Replacement Visor accessory (Style ACCHVR). Health Canada says the polycarbonate portion of the visor may develop micro-fissures around screw holes and could crack if hit by a powerful impact. The recall was published Aug. 6, 2026.

The recall matters for anyone using the visor because a crack during an impact could reduce face protection. Health Canada advised consumers to immediately stop using the recalled products and contact Sport Maska Inc. (CCM) to receive a replacement full-face protector.

CCM said it initiated a voluntary recall after determining the products do not fully align with the company’s current manufacturing quality standards.

According to Health Canada’s notice, CCM said the polycarbonate portion of the hybrid visor may, in some cases, develop micro-fissures around the screw holes that connect the polycarbonate portion to the cage portion. The company said this could lead to cracking if the visor is hit with a powerful impact, such as a puck travelling at high velocity.

The recalled products are identified by these part numbers and sizes:

• CCM Hybrid Visor (Style FMVHR): part 5490135 (S/M) and part 5490136 (M/L).
• Replacement Visor accessory (Style ACCHVR): part 5490137 (M/L) and part 5490095 (S/M).

The replacement visor accessory kits contain one replacement visor, two side clips, two spacers and two screws, according to the recall listing.

As of July 17, 2026, CCM reported it had received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

The company reported that 8,895 units of the affected products were sold in Canada. Health Canada said they were sold from May 2024 to April 2026 and were manufactured in China.

Health Canada noted that recalled products cannot be redistributed, sold or given away in Canada under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.
