Holt Road Closed August 18 Between Taunton Road and Nash Road for Culvert Replacement

Holt Road will be closed between Taunton Road and Nash Road on Monday, August 18, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for culvert replacement, according to the Municipality of Clarington.

The planned closure affects drivers and residents who use Holt Road, as both soft and hard closures will be in place during the work, as outlined by the Municipality.

Soft closures are scheduled at the intersections of Taunton Road and Holt Road, and Nash Road and Holt Road. The Municipality stated that a hard closure will be in effect 160 metres south of 4100 Holt Road. Municipal staff described a hard closure as blocking the entire roadway for all users, including motorists, cyclists, pedestrians, and emergency vehicles. In contrast, soft closures will allow local traffic to reach areas up to the hard closure but not beyond. The Municipality also advises travellers to use local alternative roads during this period.
