Lane Restrictions on Taunton Road West Begin October 6 in Pickering and Ajax

Durham Region has announced daily lane restrictions on Taunton Road West, between William Jackson Drive and Ravenscroft Road, in Pickering and Ajax. The restrictions will begin October 6 and continue until June 2026. According to the Region, the schedule may be adjusted if weather conditions are unfavourable.

These lane restrictions are being put in place for the construction of a new watermain along this section of Taunton Road, according to Durham Region. The Region advises that some residents in the area will experience intermittent water supply interruptions during the project. Impacted properties will be notified by the contractor 48 hours in advance of any planned service interruption.

Durham Region states that access to residential driveways will be maintained whenever possible. Residents will be notified if they need to move their vehicles out of driveways due to construction activities.

Drivers are asked by the Region to exercise caution in the area to ensure the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and work crews during the construction period.
