Lane restrictions on Thickson Road North in Whitby’s Brooklin village to continue until July 31
Lane restrictions are in place on Thickson Road North (Regional Road 26) in Whitby’s Brooklin village until July 31 while Durham Region installs a watermain between Carnwith Drive East and Baldwin Street North. Durham Region said the work is intended to support new development.
The restrictions may affect drivers using Thickson Road North through Brooklin over the coming weeks, particularly along the stretch between Carnwith Drive East and Baldwin Street North.
In a notice issued by Durham Region, the municipality said the lane restrictions are needed “to safely install a watermain in support of new development.”
Durham Region said the work is ongoing until July 31, and that weather may affect the schedule.
The Region also said the work may be disruptive. Durham Region asked drivers to use caution in the area for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
