Left-turn restrictions at Harmony Road South and Tennyson Avenue in Oshawa to begin this summer, Durham Region says

Left-turn restrictions at Harmony Road South (Regional Road 33) and Tennyson Avenue in Oshawa will start in the summer, not in late January as previously announced, Durham Region says.

When the restrictions begin, Durham Region says they will apply to the northbound left turn from Harmony Road South onto Tennyson Avenue and the eastbound left turn from Tennyson Avenue onto Harmony Road South during weekday rush hours.

Durham Region said the restrictions will be in effect Monday to Friday from 6 to 9 a.m. and from 3 to 7 p.m.

The region said it is phasing in the start of the restrictions because of nearby road construction. Durham Region also said it will monitor conditions at the intersection and make adjustments as needed.

Durham Region said the initiative supports Durham Vision Zero, which it describes as a long-term road-safety plan.
