Man Arrested After Stabbing in Ajax; Victim in Stable Condition

A man was arrested after a stabbing in Ajax on Friday, September 5, 2025, according to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS). Officers responded at about 3:10 p.m. to Old Kingston Road and Elizabeth Street, where they found a victim with a stab wound. The suspect had left the area on foot before police arrived.

DRPS stated that the incident was isolated and the accused and victim know each other. The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre and remains in stable condition, according to police.

Police reported that the suspect was located with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit and taken into custody without incident. A 31-year-old male from Ajax is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, and assault with a weapon. The name of the accused has been withheld by police to protect the identity of the victim. The accused was held for a bail hearing. DRPS noted that the allegations have not been proven in court.
