Man Arrested in Fatal Shooting at Ajax GO Station, Police Report

A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged after a fatal shooting at the Ajax GO station, according to Durham Regional Police. The incident happened on Sunday, June 22, 2025, around 11:30 p.m. at the GO lot at 100 Westney Road South.

Durham Regional Police said this is the region’s fourth homicide in 2025. Officers responded to an assist ambulance call and found an unconscious man with gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a trauma centre in Toronto, where he later died.

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, police arrested Clifford Matthew Barras, 33, of Ajax. He has been charged with second degree murder and held for a bail hearing, according to police. Police stated that the allegations have not yet been proven in court.

Durham Regional Police have asked anyone with information to contact Detective Hollister of the Homicide Unit. Police also said that anonymous tips can be submitted to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers by phone or online.
