Man Dies After E-Scooter Collision in Ajax, Police Report

A man has died after a single-vehicle collision involving an e-scooter in Ajax, according to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

DRPS reported that the incident occurred on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at around 3:15 p.m. on Kitney Drive, just north of Clements Road West in Ajax. Police stated that a male was riding a Segway Ninebot Kick Scooter Max G2 northbound along the east side of the roadway when he lost control, fell, and hit his head. According to DRPS, the rider was not wearing a helmet and suffered a serious head injury.

DRPS said that the man was taken to a local hospital in life-threatening condition before being airlifted to a trauma centre in the Toronto area. Police reported that he later died from his injuries. The Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
