Municipality Reports Clarington Sidewalk and Curb Repairs Ongoing Through October 2025

Repairs to cracked, uneven, and damaged sidewalks and curbs are underway throughout Clarington as part of the municipality's annual sidewalk maintenance program, according to an announcement on the Clarington municipal website. The municipality states that the work is expected to be completed by October 2025.

The municipality reports that more than 540 sidewalk sections and short lengths of curb will be lifted, removed, or replaced at various locations in Clarington. The municipal announcement also states that affected roadways will remain open during construction, but residents may encounter occasional disruptions to property access, particularly driveways. Residents whose driveways will be affected are to receive at least 24 hours' notice, according to the release.

The municipality notes that project timelines are approximate and may vary due to weather and other factors. Inspections to identify sidewalks requiring repair were carried out by summer students working with the municipality, as reported in the municipal notice.

Residents are advised by the municipality to contact Oshawa Fire Dispatch at 905-433-1234 for urgent, after-hours issues related to the repairs.
