Ocean Mama Seafood Shrimp Recalled in Alberta and British Columbia Due to Chemical Contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced a recall of Ocean Mama Seafood brand Easy Peel, Deveined, Shell On Raw Shrimp 26/30 after the chemical 3-amino-2-oxazolidinone was found in the product. The recall, posted on May 29, 2025, applies to products distributed in Alberta and British Columbia.

According to the CFIA, affected packages are 907 grams and have the UPC 8 74718 00036 8. The agency has advised consumers not to use, sell, serve, or distribute the recalled shrimp.

The recall is classified as Class 3 by the CFIA. Under the agency's classification system, a Class 3 recall indicates use of the product is not likely to cause any adverse health consequences.

Frobisher International Enterprises Ltd. is listed as the recalling firm. The recall reference number is F 10/1464, and the CFIA identification number is RA-77515.
