Ontario Launches My Career Journey Online Tool for Career Planning
The Ontario government launched an online tool called My Career Journey on June 11, 2025. The government states the tool is intended to provide students and job seekers with information about education and training for in-demand jobs across Ontario.
According to government materials, My Career Journey is aimed at high school students, new Canadians, and people considering career changes. The tool focuses on four career sectors identified by the government as priorities: health care, skilled trades and construction, technology and engineering, and education.
The Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security says the website features interactive maps that allow users to explore regional in-demand careers and locate postsecondary institutions. The ministry reports that Ontario has 23 publicly assisted universities, 24 publicly assisted colleges, and nine Indigenous Institutes, all included on the portal’s map. My Career Journey also provides job profiles for various in-demand occupations. A questionnaire within the website matches users with a personalized list of education and career resources based on their interests. As detailed in government quick facts, the questionnaire draws from a database of nearly 100 education- and career-focused resources.
The government states that the development of My Career Journey included consultations with postsecondary institutions, workers, students, and other external stakeholders. The tool is publicly accessible online at ontario.ca/mycareerjourney.
