Ontario pistachio recall for Salmonella includes Mississauga clerk‑served nuts, Phidelia 200 g
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a food recall warning on Nov. 12, 2025, for pistachios and pistachio‑containing products distributed in Ontario due to possible Salmonella contamination, including clerk‑served pistachios sold at Master Delight in Mississauga and a 200 g packaged product.
Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can cause serious illness. Older adults, young children, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems are at higher risk. The CFIA advises consumers not to consume, use, sell, serve or distribute recalled products.
The recall covers three no‑brand, clerk‑served items sold at Master Delight, 7033 Telford Way, Unit #3, Mississauga:
- Salted Iranian Pistachios
- Lemon Salted Iranian Pistachios
- Lightly Salted Iranian Pistachios
These clerk‑served items have no UPCs, were sold in variable quantities, and were available from Nov. 1, 2024, up to and including Jan. 31, 2025.
Also recalled is Phidelia Premium Products Kernel Pistachio Natural (200 g; UPC 6 27021 00355 3; LOT 4250), distributed in Ontario.
The recalling firms are Phidelia Premium Products and Master Delight. The CFIA notes each company is responsible for some, but not necessarily all, of the products listed. The alert is a Class 2 food recall warning in the Food – Nuts, grains, and seeds category (identification number RA‑78239).
The CFIA advises that recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the place of purchase. The agency also advises anyone who thinks they became sick after consuming a recalled product to contact a healthcare provider.
Symptoms of Salmonella infection can include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long‑term complications may include severe arthritis.
The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products, and is verifying that industry is removing recalled items from the marketplace. Beginning Nov. 12, 2025, additional recall warnings and notifications linked to the pistachio investigation will be posted on the CFIA’s recall page; products included in warnings issued before that date will remain available at their original links.
