Ontario Tech engineering faculty in Oshawa forms advisory board of industry leaders
Ontario Tech University’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science in Oshawa has created an Engineering Advisory Board made up of industry leaders, the university announced Oct. 9, 2026.
According to Ontario Tech, the board is intended to provide advice on emerging trends in the engineering profession and offer outside perspectives as the faculty aligns its teaching, research and talent-development work with changing industry needs.
The inaugural board includes leaders from sectors such as energy and nuclear work, transit and infrastructure, advanced manufacturing and defence-related industries.
Inaugural members include: Marek Derewonko of Bruce Power; Colin Dhillon of the Centre for Designing Change; Doug Jensen of Cameco Fuel Manufacturing; Rodney Jones of Metrolinx; Joanna Kervin of AECOM; Aiman Khan of Candu Energy (an AtkinsRéalis company); Julian Knutzen of Magna International; Richard Lee of General Dynamics Land Systems; Michael Paczkowski of Arcadis Canada; David Rogalski of Ontario Power Generation; Mohamed (Moody) Saad of AtkinsRéalis; and Julie West of Kinectrics.
Ontario Tech said membership is expected to expand into areas it identified as energy and nuclear innovation, infrastructure and transit, advanced manufacturing, sustainability, technology, defence and organizational transformation.
In a written statement included with the announcement, engineering dean Dr. Hossam Kishawy said the board will give the faculty “valuable external perspective as we plan for the future,” and said members’ experience will be used to strengthen connections between academic work and industry needs.
The university did not say when the board will meet.
