Ontario Tech University Announces 2025-2026 Entrance Scholarship Recipients

Twin brothers Tyrus and Cyrus Tsui of Markham are among seven students who have received major entrance scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year at Ontario Tech University, according to a university announcement on June 27. Ontario Tech University states that these scholarships, totaling more than $275,000, are awarded in five categories and recognize secondary school students for academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement.

The scholarships are distributed to recipients from various Ontario communities and also include one international student. According to the university, Cyrus Tsui received one of two President’s Scholarships, valued at $30,000 over four years. His brother, Tyrus Tsui, was awarded one of two Founder’s Scholarships, each valued at $24,000 over four years. Both are entering the Biological Science co-op program.

Marisa Pirrera of Stoney Creek was awarded the Chancellor’s Scholarship, which is valued at $36,000 over four years. Yusuf Patel of Markham received the second President’s Scholarship. Aditdi Senthil Kumar from Whitby was granted the second Founder’s Scholarship.

William Bellerby from Mississauga received the FIRST Robotics Canada Scholarship, valued at $12,000 over four years. The Global Leadership Award, valued at $120,000 over four years, was awarded to Marie Ange Nishimwe Ingabire from Musanze, Rwanda.

Scholarship values, recipient names, their programs, and hometowns are publicly listed by Ontario Tech University in its official June 27 release.
