Ontario Tech University Introduces Bursaries for Children of Auto Industry Workers

Ontario Tech University in Oshawa has created three new bursaries for incoming students whose parents work in the auto industry. The university stated that the bursaries are a response to financial challenges related to recent changes in trade and tariff policies.

Ontario Tech University noted that these bursaries are intended to address concerns faced by families in Oshawa and across Canada who are affected by shifts in the automotive sector. The bursaries are designed to support children of auto industry workers who plan to enter post-secondary programs.

According to the university, the bursaries are open to high school graduates in Ontario who have accepted an offer of admission to Ontario Tech University and whose parents are currently employed in the auto industry. The university stated that preference will be given to students entering programs such as engineering, computer science, or related fields.

Ontario Tech University indicated that eligible students may apply for the bursaries after accepting their offer of admission. Further information, including application requirements and deadlines, is available on the Ontario Tech University Student Awards and Financial Aid website.
