Ontario Tech University President Receives King Charles Coronation Medal in Bowmanville

Dr. Steven Murphy, President and Vice-Chancellor of Ontario Tech University, received the King Charles Coronation Medal on January 11 in Bowmanville, according to an announcement from the university. The university stated that the medal was presented by Durham Member of Parliament Jamil Jivani.

The university announced the award on January 21. According to the university, Dr. Murphy established the Brilliant Catalyst and led the development of the Brilliant Energy Institute, both initiatives based at Ontario Tech University.

The King Charles Coronation Medal is awarded to individuals recognized for their contributions in Canada and Ontario. Further details about the selection criteria for the medal or other recipients were not provided in the university's announcement.
