One recipient, Gloria Koya, a second-year nursing student, said the scholarship has allowed her to reduce her work hours and spend more time participating in campus activities. Koya also said the award motivated her in her studies as she works toward becoming a women’s health nurse practitioner.
According to the source, the Sienna for Seniors Foundation is the philanthropic branch of Sienna Senior Living, which is based in Markham, Ontario. Nitin Jain, President and CEO of Sienna Senior Living, said the foundation focuses on supporting organizations and individuals dedicated to education in the health-care sector.
