Ontario Tech University to Confer More Than 2,200 Degrees at June Convocation
Ontario Tech University will hold its Spring Convocation from June 4 to June 6 at Polonsky Commons on its north Oshawa campus. The university has announced it expects to confer more than 2,200 degrees in six ceremonies.
The university has stated that, with these ceremonies, Ontario Tech's alumni community will exceed 31,000 individuals. These convocations are the primary graduation events for students at Ontario Tech.
Ontario Tech has also announced six recipients who will receive honorary doctorates at the Spring Convocation:
- Donato Ardellini, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Environmental 360 Solutions.
- Janet Bannister, founder and General Partner of Staircase Ventures.
- Arlene Dickinson, founder and General Partner of District Ventures Capital, and mentor on the television program Dragons’ Den.
- Dr. Christopher Mushquash, professor at Lakehead University and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine University, and Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Mental Health and Addiction.
- Stephen Poloz, ninth Governor of the Bank of Canada (2013 to 2020) and board member of Enbridge and CGI Inc.
- The Honourable Michael H. Tulloch, Chief Justice of Ontario and President of the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
The university has posted the full ceremony schedule and details for graduates and guests on its Convocation website. According to the announcement, all ceremonies will also be available online via livestream for those unable to attend in person.
