Ontario Tech University stated that Alpine Canada men's team members, including Crawford and Alexander, used the wind tunnel for pre-season training in October 2024. The facility, according to the university, has been used by athletes from sports such as skiing, speed skating, and bobsleigh to simulate various temperature and wind conditions for training purposes.
Chris Powers, assistant coach for the Alpine Canada men’s speed team, said in a statement that the expertise and service at the wind tunnel have been valuable to the athletes. He added that the training, along with support from facilities like ACE, contributes to the athletes' performance in competitions.
John Komar, Executive Director of ACE at Ontario Tech University, said the facility had a supporting role in the team’s recent achievements.
