Orono’s Main Street to close Aug. 8 between Park Street and Centreview Street for Antique Festival

Main Street in Orono (Regional Road 17) will be closed between Park Street and Centreview Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, for the Orono Antique Festival.

The closure affects a section of downtown Orono for much of the day, including hours before and after the festival. Detours will be available via alternate local roads.

The Municipality of Clarington says the 17th annual Orono Antique Festival is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Orono.

Clarington described the shutdown as a “hard road closure,” meaning the entire road will be blocked and motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through the closed section.

The notice was posted by the Municipality of Clarington on Aug. 7.
