Oshawa Man Arrested Following Armed Robbery at Local Store
A 25-year-old Oshawa man was arrested on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, following an armed robbery at a convenience store near King Street East and Townline Road South, according to Durham Regional Police.
The incident, which police say occurred on July 7, involved a male suspect entering the store, where an altercation began. Police report the suspect pulled out a knife and threatened an employee. He then stole several items and left the area.
Members of the Robbery Unit located and arrested the suspect the following day without incident. Police state that a Criminal Code search warrant was executed at the residence of the accused, and evidence connected to the case was seized.
According to police, Ryan Wannan, 25, of Oshawa, has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, possessing a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, and possession of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000. Police report that Wannan was held for a bail hearing.
Durham Regional Police note that these allegations are based on their investigation and have yet to be proven in court.
