Oshawa Man Charged After Stabbing Leaves 21-Year-Old Hospitalized

A 21-year-old is in hospital after being stabbed on Saturday, June 14 in the area of Oxford Street and Wentworth Street West in Oshawa, according to Durham Regional Police. Officers from Central East Division responded to a call about the incident at approximately 11:40 a.m. and found the victim with multiple stab wounds. The individual was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre and remains in stable condition.

Police stated their investigation determined that the victim's boyfriend was responsible for the assault and that the suspect fled before officers arrived. Following a search, police arrested a 38-year-old man from Oshawa without incident.

According to police, the accused has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon. Authorities said he was held for a bail hearing. The name of the accused has not been released to protect the identity of the victim. Police noted that these allegations have not yet been proven in court.
