Oshawa Police Issue Warrant for Suspect in North End Assault
An arrest warrant has been issued for a 24-year-old Oshawa man following an alleged assault near Steeplechase Street and Windfields Farm Drive just after 10:30 p.m. on June 1, 2025, according to the Durham Regional Police Service.
Police stated the incident involved a suspect who approached two individuals walking in the opposite direction, produced a knife, and attempted to stab one of them. No physical injuries were reported. The suspect left the area before officers arrived.
The Durham Regional Police Service identified the suspect as Anthony Oliveira, 24, of Oshawa. He is wanted for assault with a weapon, possession of weapons dangerous, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. A photograph of Oliveira is available on the police service’s website.
Police advise that anyone who sees Oliveira or knows his whereabouts should contact authorities and not approach him.
