Oshawa Police Seek Witnesses After Attempted Stabbing Near Steeplechase Street

Police are seeking a suspect following an attempted stabbing in Oshawa on Sunday, June 1, 2025. The incident occurred at around 10:30 p.m. near Steeplechase Street and Windfields Farm Drive, according to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

The police report states that a man walking west on Danztore Path approached two people traveling in the opposite direction. As the individuals passed each other, the man reportedly pulled out a knife and attempted to stab one of them. The suspect fled before police arrived. Multiple DRPS units, including a K9 team, responded to the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

No physical injuries were reported to police. The motive for the incident remains under investigation, and authorities have not determined what led to the attack.

The DRPS is asking anyone with video footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward. An image of the suspect is available on the DRPS website at www.drps.ca.

Police also request that anyone with information contact the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Branch. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Durham Regional Crime Stoppers either online or by phone. Police state that tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.
