Oshawa Stabbing Leads to Arrest; Police Continue Search for Second Suspect

A 19-year-old man has been arrested and a second suspect remains at large after a stabbing in Oshawa on August 11, 2025, according to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS). Officers responded at about 6:35 p.m. to a report of three males fighting near Mary Street North and William Street East.

The incident is notable for the involvement of multiple suspects and the use of a weapon. Residents in the area may wish to remain alert as police continue their search for the second suspect.

Police say the victim was playing basketball when two males approached him. A verbal argument followed before the group moved to the road, where a physical altercation led to the victim being stabbed. According to police, the suspects fled before officers arrived.

Police reported that officers applied a tourniquet to the victim at the scene. The victim was then transported to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

During their investigation, officers identified one of the suspects. On August 12, 2025, members of the East Crime Team arrested Dajon Colley, age 19, of no fixed address, in the area of King Street West and Nassau Street. Colley has been charged with aggravated assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, and three counts of breach of probation. Police stated that Colley was held for a bail hearing.

As of August 18, 2025, police report that the second suspect has not been located. DRPS asks that anyone with information about the incident contact Detective Dellipizzi of the Central East Criminal Investigations Branch or submit anonymous tips to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers. Police noted that the allegations in this case have not been proven in court.
