Oshawa Woman Charged with 66 Offences After Stolen Vehicle Arrest

A 30-year-old Oshawa woman is facing 66 charges after officers with the Central East Community Response Unit located her in a stolen pickup truck near Albany Street and Front Street on July 24, 2025, according to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

The charges relate to alleged drug possession and multiple counts involving stolen identification. Police said officers were proactively patrolling the area when they spotted the stolen vehicle. According to DRPS, the woman exited the truck and entered a store, where she obtained clothing in what police described as an attempt to change her appearance. Officers followed her for a short time before taking her into custody without incident.

Police reported that more than 60 grams of crystal methamphetamine were seized during the arrest. Officers also found various stolen identification and bank cards in her possession.

DRPS identified the accused as April Lessard of Oshawa. The charges include 22 counts of possession of credit card, 27 counts involving identity documents, one count of failing to comply with a probation order, and one count of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. Police stated that Lessard was held for a bail hearing.

According to DRPS, the allegations have not been proven in court.
