Playground Upgrades at Lord Elgin Park in Bowmanville to Start August 2025

Clarington will begin construction to upgrade the playground at Lord Elgin Park in Bowmanville during the week of August 18, 2025. According to the municipality, the project will include a larger play area, new play structures for all ages, swings—including an accessible swing—benches, newly paved pathways, a ramp, and wood fibre safety surfacing.

The planned upgrades are intended to improve accessibility and provide play opportunities for children of all abilities. Local residents should be aware that, during construction, parts of Lord Elgin Park may be temporarily closed to the public and the playground is expected to reopen in the fall, according to the Municipality of Clarington.
