Police Investigate Death of Woman in Newcastle Residence

A woman was found deceased with obvious signs of trauma at a residence in Newcastle on the morning of September 16, 2025, according to Durham Regional Police Service.

Police stated the incident occurred near Farrow Avenue and Highway 2 at about 9:10 a.m. Members of East Division responded to a call for unknown trouble and located the woman, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, police believe this to be an isolated incident.

The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and is urging anyone with information to contact police. Anyone who was in the area or may have witnessed suspicious activity is asked to contact Detective Green of the Homicide Unit at 1-888-579-1520, extension 5319.
