Police Release New Images in Oshawa Assault Investigation
Durham Regional Police Service investigators have released new images of a suspect connected to an assault with a weapon in Oshawa. The incident took place on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., near Steeplechase Street and Windfields Farm Drive.
This information is important for Oshawa residents because police are seeking public assistance to identify the individual involved and improve community safety.
According to police, a man was walking west on Danztore Path when he encountered two people approaching from the opposite direction. As they passed, police say the man produced a knife and attempted to stab one of them before fleeing the area. Officers from the Central West Division and other Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) units, including the K9 team, searched the area but did not locate the suspect. DRPS reports that no physical injuries occurred during the incident.
The motive remains under investigation, and police say the circumstances leading up to the assault are unknown. Investigators are asking anyone with video footage from the area at the relevant time to come forward to assist with the investigation.
