Police Report Woman Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Newtonville Collision
A 69-year-old woman sustained life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Concession Road 5, west of Newtonville Road, according to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS). The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
DRPS stated that officers from East Division responded to the scene after a collision between an eastbound Suzuki SFV motorcycle and a westbound Cadillac. Police reported that the motorcycle rider was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. According to police, the Cadillac's driver did not report any physical injuries at the time and remained at the scene.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended to conduct an investigation. Police said the cause of the collision remains under investigation as of August 25.
