Police Request Public Assistance Following Shooting in Ajax

Durham Regional Police are asking for the public’s assistance following a shooting reported in Ajax late Sunday night. According to police, officers from West Division responded to a call regarding an armed person near Bayly Street West and Kitney Drive at approximately 11:55 p.m. on July 27, 2025. Police stated that multiple gunshots were heard in the area and several people were seen fleeing the scene. Upon arrival, officers found several shell casings. No victims have been identified and no physical injuries have been reported.

Police are seeking witnesses or anyone with video footage, including dash cam video, from the area around the time of the incident. Police say the investigation is ongoing.

According to the police statement, all reported facts come from information gathered during the investigation, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
