Police Search for Suspect After Robbery Involving Delivery Driver in Oshawa
Police are searching for a suspect following a robbery involving a delivery driver for a cannabis store in Oshawa on Tuesday, July 1, according to the Durham Regional Police Service.
Police released details to the public on July 3 as part of their effort to identify the suspect and locate the stolen package.
According to police, the incident took place at approximately 3:10 p.m. in the area of Paddington Crescent and Downing Court. Police said a man approached the delivery driver, started a conversation, and then demanded the driver drop a package. The victim told officers he observed what appeared to be a firearm in the suspect’s pocket. The suspect then fled the area on foot with the package, police said. No physical injuries were reported.
The suspect is described by police as a male, brown, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 20 years old, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black cargo pants.
Police are asking anyone with information, or with video surveillance from the area around the time of the incident, including dash cam footage, to contact Detective Bell of the Central East Criminal Investigations Branch. Anonymous information can also be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers. Police noted that tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.
