Police Seek Public Help in Identifying Suspects in Newcastle Robbery
Durham Regional Police are asking for help from the public to identify three suspects following a robbery that took place in the parking lot at 131 King Avenue East in Newcastle on May 21, 2025, at approximately 5:25 p.m.
Police state that the suspects were inside a vehicle and called the victim over under the pretense of requesting help. When the victim approached, the suspects grabbed her necklace and forcibly removed it before leaving the scene in a dark blue Nissan Rogue SUV with a Quebec licence plate.
According to the police, the suspects are described as follows:
- Suspect #1: Female, Brown, 30-35 years old, medium build.
- Suspect #2: Male, Brown, 30-35 years old, medium build, short black hair.
- Suspect #3: Male, Brown, 18-20 years old, slim build, short black hair, last seen wearing light coloured track pants.

Anyone with information about the incident or who has video footage, including dash cam, is asked to contact Detective Pogson of the East Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-570-1520 ext. 1659. According to police, tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
