Police Seek Suspect After Shot Fired During Road Rage Incident in Oshawa
A male suspect is being sought by police after a firearm was discharged during a reported road rage incident in Oshawa on Saturday, July 5, 2025. The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. in the area of Rossland Road East and Wilson Road North, according to Durham Regional Police.
Police state that the investigation is ongoing as they request public assistance in identifying the suspect. This request includes seeking any cell phone, dash cam, or surveillance footage related to the incident.
Durham Regional Police report that the victim was driving on Wilson Road North when a dark-coloured SUV began tailgating and motioning for the driver to go faster. When the victim entered the turning lane, the SUV pulled up beside the victim's vehicle and the suspect threatened the driver. A verbal exchange followed, after which the victim heard a loud noise and the driver’s side window shattered. The suspect then drove westbound on Rossland Road East before officers arrived at the scene.
Officers state they located a single bullet inside the victim’s vehicle. No physical injuries were reported.
The suspect is described by police as a Black male, approximately 20 years old, who was driving a dark-coloured older model Dodge Journey. A photograph of the vehicle can be viewed on the Durham Regional Police website.
