Police Seek Suspect in Whitby Credit Card Fraud Case

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man suspected of using stolen credit cards to make purchases at several shops in Whitby on May 9, 2025, according to the Durham Regional Police Service.

Police say the suspect was recorded making unauthorized purchases at multiple locations, and a description and photo have been released to assist with identification efforts. This information is relevant to residents who may have witnessed the individual or can help police locate him.

According to police, the suspect is described as a Black male of large build. At the time of the incidents, he was wearing a black baseball hat, a grey jacket, blue jeans, and brown shoes. A photo of the individual is available on the Durham Regional Police Service website at www.drps.ca.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident to contact Detective Constable Knowler of the Central West Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 3989. Police say anonymous tips can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.durhamregionalcrimestoppers.ca. Police also say tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
