Police Seek Two Suspects After Attempted Arson at Clarington Business
Police are searching for two suspects following an attempted arson at a Clarington business on Saturday, September 6, 2025. According to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS), the incident took place near Baseline Road West and Cigas Road.
The police statement indicates that officers were called after a business owner discovered two incendiary devices on the property. Officers who arrived at the scene found two bottles filled with a substance described as ignitable. Surveillance video, as reported by the DRPS, shows two suspects arriving at the location and attempting to ignite the bottles before fleeing the area.
DRPS provided the following descriptions:
- Suspect #1 is described as a male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
- Suspect #2 is described as a male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
Both suspects left the scene in a white sedan, according to police.
The investigation is being conducted by members of the DRPS East Division and East Criminal Investigative Branch. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or who may have seen a white sedan in the area to contact Detective Constable Kapeluk of the East Criminal Investigative Branch.
