Police Seek Witnesses After Teen Stabbed in Ajax

A 16-year-old male was stabbed in Ajax late Friday night, and Durham Regional Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with video footage of the incident. The stabbing occurred around 11:55 p.m. on June 13 in the area of Audley Road and Lythgoe Lane, according to police.

Police stated that multiple 9-1-1 calls were made reporting a fight in the area. Officers arrived to find a large group leaving but did not locate any injured individuals at the scene. Shortly afterward, a 16-year-old male arrived at a local hospital with stab wounds. Police confirmed he was injured during the altercation. The victim was later transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre, where he remains in stable but critical condition, police said.

Investigators from Durham Regional Police’s West Criminal Investigations Branch are specifically seeking witnesses or anyone with cellphone or other video footage, particularly from Lakeside Park between 11:30 p.m. and midnight on June 13. Anonymous information can be submitted to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers, and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward, according to police.
