Premier Doug Ford Marks Canada Day with Statement to Ontario Residents

Premier Doug Ford issued a Canada Day statement on July 1, 2025, offering greetings to residents of Ontario and across the country.

The statement draws attention to community celebrations at Queen’s Park in Toronto and other locations in Ontario, noting that residents are gathering to mark the national holiday. Ford also cited what he described as recent displays of unity and patriotism by Canadians, saying that people have, in his words, come together to "stand up for Canada."

Ford characterized Canada as having "incredible natural beauty, vibrant communities and unmatched potential." He called for continued collective efforts to, as he stated, "build an even stronger and more prosperous country for future generations."

He said the provincial government will continue to invest in workers and communities, pursue economic reconciliation with Indigenous partners, and work to make Ontario and Canada "more competitive, resilient and self-reliant." According to Ford, these actions aim to protect both Ontario and Canada from future challenges.

The statement ends with Ford wishing residents a "safe, fun and memorable Canada Day."
