Recall Issued for Certain Fish and Shrimp Crackers in British Columbia Due to Undeclared Egg

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for ZMC Bangka Getas Fish Crackers and Ny.Siok Shrimp Crackers due to the presence of egg that is not declared on the product labels. The recall, dated August 1, 2025, applies to products distributed in British Columbia.

The CFIA stated the affected crackers may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction for individuals who are allergic or sensitive to eggs. The agency reported that no allergic reactions had been associated with the products at the time of the recall.

The recalled products include:

  • ZMC Bangka Getas Fish Crackers, 250 g, code 260210, no UPC
  • Ny.Siok Shrimp Crackers, 500 g, UPC 8 995177 600011, expiry date 07/04/26 (manufacturing code E020325)
  • Ny.Siok Shrimp Crackers, 500 g, UPC 8 995177 600011, expiry date 01/02/26 (manufacturing code E020225)

According to the CFIA, the recall was triggered by test results from the agency. CFIA indicated it is overseeing the company’s efforts to remove the affected products from stores and noted that additional recalls may follow as the food safety investigation continues. The recalling firm is H&G Tan Enterprises Inc.

The CFIA advised that individuals with egg allergies should not consume the affected products.
