Recall Issued for Co-op Brand White Tray Buns in Winnipeg Due to Undeclared Milk

A recall has been issued for Co-op brand White Tray Buns due to the presence of milk that is not declared on the product's label. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced the recall on September 12, 2025. The affected product is a 12-pack of White Tray Buns with the UPC code 0 057316 191915. These buns were sold up to and including September 10, 2025, at Red River Co-op Food Stores at three locations in Winnipeg, Manitoba: Grant Park at 1120 Grant Ave., St. Vital at 850 Dakota St., and Southdale at 77 Vermillion Rd.

The recall was initiated after a consumer complaint and one reported reaction linked to the product. According to the CFIA, people who are allergic or sensitive to milk should not consume the recalled buns, as they may suffer a serious or life-threatening reaction. The agency advises that recalled products should not be served, used, sold, or distributed, and should be thrown out or returned to where they were purchased.

The CFIA is investigating the incident, which could lead to further recalls if necessary. Officials are working to ensure that the recalled product is removed from the marketplace. The recall is classified as a Class 1 food recall warning, which applies when there is a risk of serious health consequences from consuming the product.

The recall was issued by Red River Co-operative and published by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. The agency continues to monitor the situation and advises the public to check their homes for the affected product.
