Recall: Lil’ Juan’s and Lucia’s Pork Carnitas May Contain Pieces of Wood
Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. has recalled about 61,839 pounds of Lil’ Juan’s and Lucia’s brand ready-to-eat Mexican-Style Pork Carnitas. According to the Canada Food Inspection Agency, the recall was issued because the products may contain pieces of wood.
The affected products are labeled under the Lil’ Juan’s and Lucia’s brands. The Canada Food Inspection Agency has advised consumers to check the packaging of any pork carnitas products they may have purchased. Details such as best-before dates and lot numbers are printed on the packaging to help identify the recalled items.
The agency recommends that consumers do not eat these products and instead dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase. As of the time of the recall notice, the Canada Food Inspection Agency has reported no confirmed cases of illness or injury related to the recalled products.
