Reconstruction of Baseball Diamond Underway at Soper Creek Park in Bowmanville
Work is underway to reconstruct the baseball diamond at Soper Creek Park in Bowmanville, according to the Municipality of Clarington's announcement dated August 15, 2025. The municipality expects construction to continue until the end of October 2025, though the timeline may be affected by weather and other factors.
The baseball diamond and batting cage have been fenced off for construction and public safety. Meanwhile, the playground, basketball court, and parking lot at Soper Creek Park remain open to the public.
Upgrades listed by the Municipality include replacing the backstop, installing new players’ benches and dugouts, and reconstructing both the infield and outfield of the baseball area.
The Municipality of Clarington advises residents to use caution while walking or cycling along the park's driveway due to the presence of heavy equipment and trucks during the project.
The municipality states that part of the funding for these upgrades comes from the Jays Care Foundation’s Field of Dreams grant, awarded to the Municipality in May 2025.
