Region of Durham Announces Curbside Giveaway Day for June 14

Residents of Durham Region are invited by the Region of Durham to participate in Curbside Giveaway Day on Saturday, June 14, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. According to the Region, residents may place unwanted household items in good condition at the curb, clearly marked as “Free,” for others to take. Any items that remain at the end of the day are to be brought back inside by the property owner, as outlined by the Region of Durham.

The Region states that Curbside Giveaway Day offers an opportunity to reduce the amount of garbage sent to disposal by giving away items residents no longer need and by allowing others to collect items they can use. The Region notes it is also a way for the community to connect through exchanging goods during the event.

The Region of Durham advises that only items in usable condition should be placed at the curb and must be clearly labelled as free for pickup. More information about the event, including participation guidelines, can be found at durham.ca/CurbsideGiveaway.
