Region of Durham Opens Survey on Future of Ritson School Site in Oshawa
The Region of Durham is inviting the public to provide feedback through an online survey on the future public open spaces at the former Ritson School site in Oshawa. According to information released by the Region, the survey is open from August 13 to 29.
The survey’s results, as stated by the Region, will assist in guiding the design of public spaces next to the historic former school building. The survey is being conducted online, and residents can find further information at durham.ca/RitsonSchool.
The Region reports that it purchased the property at 300 Ritson Road South in Oshawa from the Durham District School Board in 2022. The Ritson Project, according to the Region, will see the restoration and reuse of the former school as a community hub. Additional plans for the site include new affordable and market rental housing on other parts of the property.
