Region of Durham to host free International Women’s Day event March 3 in Ajax

The Region of Durham will hold a free International Women’s Day community event on Tuesday, March 3, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Audley Recreation Centre in Ajax.

International Women’s Day is observed each year on March 8, and Durham’s event is open to the public from across the region.

This year’s theme is “Balance the scales,” with a focus on health and well-being for women and girls.

The program is set to include a vendor market, a guided grounding exercise, performances and a panel discussion focused on mental, holistic and overall wellness.

Networking and refreshments are scheduled from 5:30 to 6 p.m., while the vendor market is planned to run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The formal program is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m.

The event is planned for Community Halls A, B and C at the Audley Recreation Centre, 1955 Audley Road North, Ajax.

Women-owned businesses can register as vendors, and there is no vendor fee, according to the Region of Durham.
