Regional Chair's Classic Raises $268,000 for Student and Mental Health Programs in Durham Region

The 2025 Regional Chair's Classic took place at Deer Creek Golf and Country Club in Ajax on June 12. The annual tournament, held in memory of former Regional Chair Roger Anderson, had 184 participants and raised $268,000 to benefit students and mental health programs in Durham Region, according to Ontario Tech University.

According to event organizers, the funds will be directed to students at Ontario Tech University and Durham College, as well as patient-focused programs at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences. Ontario Tech University also states that the tournament has raised a total of over $8 million since it began.

Regional Chair John Henry was among the attendees, along with committee members, representatives from Ontario Tech University and Durham College, and leadership from the Ontario Shores Foundation, as noted by the university. Ontario Tech University also listed community leaders and sponsors as event contributors.
