Registration opens for Bowmanville Community Complex programs; dome starts Oct. 13 and open house set for Oct. 3

Recreation program registration is now open for the Bowmanville Community Complex, and programs in the facility’s dome are set to begin Oct. 13, the Municipality of Clarington says. The municipality is also holding an open house at the complex on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Bowmanville Community Complex is the former South Bowmanville Recreation Centre site. Clarington says programming will start in the dome first, while other spaces in the main building are still being finished. The municipality says it will soon announce new programs for the gymnasium and multi-purpose rooms.

The open house is planned for the Bowmanville Community Complex at 1 West Side Drive in Bowmanville, with entry from Green Road.

For older adults, the municipality lists Walking Soccer (55+), Pole Walking Plus (55+), Osteo Fitness (55+) and Stretch (55+).

Clarington’s first season also includes children’s and family programs such as Mini Kicks (ages 2 to 4), Preschool Active (walking to age 6), Family Sports (ages 3 to 12), and Dodgeball (ages 6 to 9), according to the municipal posting.

For teens and adults, the municipality lists fitness options including Circuit Training (13+) and Walk and Weights (13+), along with adult sports such as Soccer (18+), Flag Football (18+) and Ultimate Frisbee (18+).

Clarington says the inaugural season of its Clarington Sports Leagues will start with an Adult Co-ed Indoor Soccer League, delivered in partnership with the Darlington Soccer Club.

The municipality also says tennis, soccer and basketball programs are available this season through its Her Game, Our Goal program for girl-identified youth, supported by grant funding.

A “Swim, Skate & Walk” membership is also available, which the municipality says includes access to swimming, skating and a three-lane indoor walking track in the dome.

Clarington says the facility will operate as cash-free.

Amenities listed by the municipality include a FIFA-sized multi-sport dome, an indoor walking track, two FIBA-sized multi-sport courts, and multi-purpose rooms and studio space. The existing lacrosse bowl is scheduled to reopen in 2027.

The municipality says an outdoor refrigerated skating trail and event space is planned to open in winter 2026/2027. It also lists an inclusive playground and splash pad, and an aquatics centre, both planned to open in 2027.
