Registration opens at 7 a.m. on Sept. 2, 2026, for Her Game, Our Goal, a free tennis and soccer program for self-identified girls ages seven to 13 in Clarington, according to program information posted by the Municipality of Clarington.

The program includes a two-week tennis session starting in September and a year-long soccer program launching in October. The municipal post lists funding support for the tennis portion from Tennis Canada and National Bank, and for the soccer portion from the MLSE Foundation.

Clarington’s announcement says the tennis experience will be delivered in partnership with the Bowmanville Tennis Club and supported through the Game. Set. Equity. Community Tennis Grant from Tennis Canada and National Bank.

The tennis sessions will cover basic skills using age-appropriate equipment, including lower nets and softer balls, according to the program description.

In a quote included in the municipal post, Terri Temelini, Tennis Canada’s director of women and girls’ advancement, said Clarington is one of 32 organizations awarded funding through the 2026 Community Tennis Grants program.

The soccer portion is scheduled to launch in October in partnership with Darlington Soccer Club. It is funded through a $50,000 MLSE Foundation Community Action Grant, according to the municipality.

The municipality says the soccer program will include weekly training sessions, team-building activities and small-sided games. It will also offer volunteer and coaching roles, including paid coaching positions.

Community “try-it” soccer festivals are planned, with details to be announced later, the municipal post says.
